So, I wanted to drop a quick note to the management at Top of the World (Front Desk Services). I came in last night and checked in. This morning, on my first run, one of the lift operators informed me that my pass would not scan and that I would have to go to The Depot to get a new one. Not a problem.
We stayed in the Mountain Lodge and woke up to 5 inches of fluffy powder Christmas morning. There are plenty of shops and restaurants to fill your appetite. Many lodges around the top and bottom of the ski slopes so you can easily break to warm your powder-tired bones.
The Junction was the best.
Goods were reasonably priced similar to regular retail and not inflated.
Went to Snowshoe for Christmas this year. The weather was cold (single digits dipping into the negative teens with windchill) but the skiing was some of the best i've experienced in the Southeast.
Until I got to The Depot and there was a line out the door. I did not want to wait in that line to get out on the slope. It would have taken forever. So, I tried Top of the World- Rentals, but the line there was crazy long... As a last resort, I went to the front desk. I told them that the pass was brand new, but would not scan. They took a look at it, scanned my receipt and the stub from the original pass, and reissued the pass. Fabulous service! I felt like they took my concern seriously and did everything they could to make it work for me. I believe the clerks were Sherrie (West Virginia) and Mariana (Brazil) and they were awesome. Thanks!
Intermediate Mountain- no half days, book ahead for children.
Last morning we were there the fire alarm sent everyone out of the building. That was terrible.
Would certainly rank this resort among some of the best on the entire East coast of USA.
I have snowboarded at 3 different resorts so far and this one was by far the best. The amount of slopes they have here is awesome and the quality of them are amazing as well. If you're trying to decide whether to go here or Timberline, go here. I went to Timberline as well and only 1 of there lifts worked and there were only 3 slopes open. Snowshoe is definitely the way to go if you are skiing or snowboarding in West Virginia.
Overall- we had a great time.
Awesome resort. They have everything you will need here and friendly service. The terrain and facilities are well kept and employees are polite and helpful. Dont waste money flying out west and renting a car....Also the place is loaded down with MILFS...
Beer was good.
Cheat Pizza entrance way was too cold and wouldn’t turn on the gas fireplace- so wanted in the cold of the restaurant- We were told 40 minutes when actually the wait was 1 hr & 20 minutes. The tops were the pizza and subs- bypass their lasagna. My husband began eating his lasagna and stated it was cold in the middle.
I wished their restaurants had reservations and actually would follow actual times.
A bottle of water was 4$- and Food & Beverage a little expensive.
