enjoyable, then the wings were like they had only been dipped in Texas Pete, no flavor at all, only hot.
This is one of the Best places to eat at Snowshoe. I would make reservations if you are going on a Friday or Saturday night. They have a great bar is you are staying in Soaring Eagle Lodge.
We did not have a very good experience here, first the meatloaf was just horrible, so spicy it wasn't
And as it turns out our server used our Credit Card to pay for the others dining with us and when he realized it had his manager come and void it, that in it's self is not a problem, but he didn't bother to tell us, and so the next day upon checking my balance we see the charge plus our own charge. Hopped into the car and drove back up to get this fixed and the manager acted like hey what's the problem, saying you mean your server didn't tell you? And we said I wish he had because we drove all the way back, so she proceeded to say I hope you can get back down there, haha?..so my recommendation is if you eat here don't get meatloaf or wings and watch your bill. Plus too darn expensive for what you get. Thumbs Down

South Mountain Grille has great potential but completely failed to live up to it this evening. If you go, highly recommend you get an early reservation. Ours was for 8 (not early enough, clearly). 3 of the 4 entrees we tried to order were no longer available - but we were not told of the lack of choice when we sat down and had to pick alternatives on the spur of the moment. We were offered bread but had to remind them to bring it. Our waiter neglected to refill our drinks and brought the wrong thing for both my sons. We promptly received salads/soup but the kitchen seemed to have forgotten our entrees. When they did come they were lukewarm (so perhaps not the kitchen but the waiter; it had clearly beeen sitting awhile). The flavor in each case was excellent if simple, but - having had ample time to look around - it was clear they'd run out of the vegetable of the evening. We got squash instead of collards/spinach (the two posted items on our entrees). To top it off, they were out of 1 of the 4 dessert choices - despite the fact that our meals were twice interrupted to ask if we wanted dessert. No coffee or after dinner drinks were offered, nor any acknowledgement, verbally or in the check, of the very negative experience we'd just had. At $30-$40/entree, we deserved better. If you're deciding among the "nice" spots at Snowshoe, go to Appalachia Kitchen instead. Excellent food, excellent service and a better price point (if still pricey.)
We were disappointed with our experience, wine was good but small pour, menu was very limited, menu we reviewed on line was far more extensive with many options, filet was way overcooked, expected more from high in restaurant
